Section 1 — Reservation Deposit

To reserve a specific puppy or secure a selection position within an upcoming litter, a reservation deposit is required.

• Expected litters and puppies under five weeks of age: $500 reservation deposit
• Puppies five weeks of age and older: 50% of the puppy's purchase price

All reservation deposits are applied toward the puppy's final purchase price.

This structure allows us to fairly hold a puppy or selection position while continuing to plan for the care and placement of each litter.

Section 2 — Reservation Deposits

Reservation deposits are non-refundable.

By placing a deposit, the Buyer confirms their intention to welcome an Aleka puppy into their home and acknowledges that Aleka Shih Tzu has reserved a puppy or selection position on their behalf.

From that point forward, we begin planning for your future companion. As a result, reservation deposits are not refundable for any reason.

Section 3 — Puppy Selection

A reservation deposit may be applied toward either a specific puppy or a selection position within an expected litter.

When reserving a selection position, Buyers are reserving the opportunity to choose from available puppies within a specific litter. To maintain a personalized experience, Aleka Shih Tzu offers a maximum of two male selection positions and two female selection positions per litter.

Families are encouraged to select a litter based on the qualities and temperament of the parents, as these characteristics are often the best indicator of what a puppy may mature to become. Individual puppy selection is generally based on personal preferences such as color, markings, and overall appearance.

At approximately three weeks of age, families holding a selection position will receive updated photos and information about the puppies. At that time, Buyers may either:

• Select an available puppy from that litter, or
• Pass and transfer their selection position to any available opening in a future litter.

If a Buyer chooses to pass, their deposit remains in place and may be applied toward another available selection position. Selection positions are always honored in the order they were reserved.

Section 4 — Transportation & Delivery

We always welcome families to pick up their puppy directly from us and truly enjoy meeting new families in person. Whenever possible, we encourage personal pickup, as it gives us an opportunity to answer any final questions and help ensure a smooth transition for both puppy and family.

Responsibility for the puppy transfers to the Buyer once the puppy has been released to the Buyer, the Buyer's representative, or a mutually agreed upon transportation service.

Because our days revolve around the care of our dogs and puppies, we are typically unable to personally deliver puppies to their new homes. Buyers are responsible for arranging transportation and all associated costs.

We are happy to work with a reputable flight nanny or transportation provider of your choosing and will do everything possible to help ensure your puppy's journey is safe and stress-free.

The safety and well-being of every Aleka puppy will always come first.

Section 5 — Going Home Arrangements

At six weeks of age, families will be contacted to finalize their puppy's going-home plans. Available pickup dates and times will be provided, with all appointments scheduled after the puppy reaches at least eight weeks of age.

During this time, Buyers should:

• Select a pickup appointment date and time
• Confirm pickup or transportation arrangements
• Complete final payment

Our goal is to make the transition to your home as organized and stress-free as possible for both you and your puppy.

Section 6 — Breeder's Reservation Rights

From time to time, a puppy may demonstrate qualities that make it a potential candidate for our future breeding program. For this reason, Aleka Shih Tzu reserves the right to retain any puppy prior to final placement.

Although we strive to make these decisions as early as possible, puppies continue to develop and change as they grow. Any decision to retain a puppy is made thoughtfully and in support of the long-term goals of our program and the preservation of the breed.

Thank you for understanding that occasionally the breeder's first choice may be exercised.

Section 7 — Respectful Communication

Both Buyer and Breeder agree to communicate in a respectful and professional manner throughout the reservation process and beyond.

Should concerns arise, both parties agree to make a reasonable effort to address those concerns directly before discussing them publicly. Nothing in this agreement prevents either party from providing truthful information when required by law or legal proceedings.

Section 8 — Texas Jurisdiction

Aleka Shih Tzu is located in Fort Bend County, Texas. By placing a reservation deposit, the Buyer acknowledges that this agreement is entered into within Fort Bend County, Texas and is governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Both Buyer and Breeder agree that matters relating to this agreement will be handled within Fort Bend County, Texas.

Section 9 — Agreement & Acceptance

By signing below, the Buyer confirms that they have reviewed and accepted the terms of this agreement.

This agreement becomes effective upon receipt of both the signed agreement and reservation deposit. A copy of the completed agreement will be provided to the Buyer, and a copy will be retained by Aleka Shih Tzu for its records.
